Reactions were worse due to Andrea’s panic disorder; however, at no time did the product packaging indicate possible side effects or considerations for ingesting it. “The miracle drugs for weight loss upset me a lot, they give me a lot of anxiety, tachycardia, they speed up my metabolism”, mentioned Andrea* for Infobae Mexico.

Andrea’s story is a clear example of how various products, not just for weight loss, promise multiple benefits at the cost of putting people’s health at risk. Not only that, but they can also cause chronic illnesses in consumers.

One of the most popular products is Cell Master, a Swiss anti-aging vaccine kit, as it promises multiple benefits for consumers: regenerating body cells, eliminating signs of aging (wrinkles, spots and sagging skin) , reduce anxiety and stress levels. ; in addition to improving the immune system. On the contrary, in the packaging and the nutritional information box, the components of the substance are not mentioned, it is only handled as an “antioxidant bomb”.

Colombian Hair, on the other hand, is a product that offers accelerated hair growth, and thanks to its “new formula”, the buyer will have 1,700 new hairs. Among the benefits of the product are the thickening of the scalp, the regeneration of new hair follicles, as well as the promise of stronger, silkier and healthier hair; however, its website does not show any type of certification by a health authority.

It does not matter whether it is Cellmaster, Lipofast, Colombian Hair or any other product that promises thousands of benefits, in the face of the hypothesis “If it cures everything, it cures nothing”, COFEPRIS called for not doing trust this type of supplements because not a compound can fight several diseases at once and, on the contrary, can have counterproductive effects on health.

This is the case of Paloma* who used a product to reduce the effects of aging and finished with severe dermatitis, even with whom battle until today. “It promised miracles and even though I was 12, they sold it to me,” Paloma said of her experience with this type of object.
