The youth it is this divine treasure that we hesitate to leave behind. It is the period of human life which immediately precedes maturity, which in turn precedes aging.
The years do not go in vain. Over time changes occur and some of them affect our health and the way we feel. We can notice changes in our body, in our cognitive abilities, in our skin or our hair. In general, anywhere. And what worries us even more: in everything that affects our appearance (look, teeth, wrinkles, nails, hair, skin…).
We can’t stop aging in any area, but we can delay and hide it. Here are some simple tips to look younger.
1. General skin care
You have to start with the ground rules. First, use sunscreen every day, as the sun’s rays can accelerate the signs of aging. In this sense, too much sunbathing can expose us to UV rays, which can accelerate aging, causing wrinkles, age spots, skin tone imperfections and even skin cancer.
No less important is hydration. Moisturizers trap water in the skin, which can help reduce the appearance of certain fine lines and make your complexion appear brighter and more youthful.
The retinoids they are our allies. This compound has powerful anti-aging properties. Its function is to stimulate a faster turnover of superficial skin cells and increases collagen, it also improves skin tone and reduces fine lines and wrinkles. From the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), they point out that a skin product containing retinoids is a good choice for someone with mild acne, mild pigmentation irregularities, or mild fine lines and wrinkles.
There is also the retinola type of retinoid commonly used to improve uneven skin tone, pigmentation, and texture.
2. Hair cut and color
The appearance of the hair will work for us or against us. Each person is a world, and each face too. Not everyone likes long hair and with age it should not be mandatory to cut your hair at ear height (because it is very long). There are no written rules and there is more and more imagination in hairdressing salons and with each client.
However, there are a few general principles. For example, layered, unstructured and balayage cuts are the most rejuvenating, compared to a single, long layer, which will make our face appear much duller. You can also play with Color: for lighter skin, light or softer tones (honey, light brown or blond); if you have dark skin, you can opt for powerful colors (copper, chocolate and even black).
3. A fit smile
The E-mail teeth wear out and our smile loses its charm (and its health). Consumption of tobacco, coffee, tea, wine, soft drinks, sweets and beets can contribute to the appearance of spots or a yellowish tone.
4. Take care of the look
Many are concerned about the appearance of fatigue and even illness they project due to the presence of puffiness and dark circles. The skin around the eyes is much thinner, and therefore more sensitive than the rest of the face.
Whatever the cause of the presence of puffiness and dark circles, the Spanish Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (AEDV) emphasizes that it can be corrected in the hands of the appropriate specialist. The dermatologist will be the one who diagnoses the cause of its appearance and sends the treatment more appropriate.
